The ‘T’ in RPS A.C.T. Mission is for ‘Technology’

Technology Strategic Planning
Since early 2012, Ralston Public Schools has been working on several projects focused on the improvement and refinement of all Technology Systems across the District.  The District Technology Planning Team (see team members listed below) has been facilitated by a local, independent consulting firm, PRISM advisors, through a technology strategic planning process which consisted of three phases:
  • Current State Assessment - PRISM advisors interviewed many District staff, conducted technology focus groups and circulated an on-line user survey which resulted in a detailed Current State Assessment Report identifying strengths to build upon and opportunities for improvement.  In June, 2012, the summary results were presented to the Board of Education.
  • Systems Strategy Development - PRISM advisors facilitated the District Technology Planning Team to define our Technology Strategy for next 3-5 years including strategic components such as key stakeholders, refined technology vision and purpose statements and key technology strategic objectives and goals.  In October, 2012, a Technology Strategic Plan document was presented to the Board of Education.
  • Tactical Planning - The final stage of the process included defining detailed technology projects that would be implemented in order to achieve the strategic objectives and goals. The District Technology Team identified and prioritized 12 projects and developed a Technology Tactical Plan document that was presented to the Board of Education in April, 2013.
Putting the Technology Plan in Motion
In May, 2013, the District Technology Team launched the implementation phase of the District Technology Plan.  For each of the 12 projects, the team identified project leads to initiate detailed project planning and identify project team participants from District staff.

The District Technology Team will be meeting on the first Mondays of the month to discuss status of active projects and address applicable issues.  Regular progress updates will be shared with District staff via the staff newsletter and this technology web page.

The Board of Education, Administration, and District Technology Planning Team would like to thank everyone who has provided input during this process and appreciates additional input going forward.
