Ms. Barb Stratman

Barb Stratman joined the Buffett Early Childhood Institute in 2017 as an Educational Facilitator. Stratman provides on-site support to the staff and students at Mockingbird Elementary, enhancing teaching and learning in preschool ̶ third grade classrooms. She also supports teachers through professional development workshops and coaching as part of the Early Childhood Superintendents’ Plan. The Omaha native previously served as an English language learner teacher for school districts in the Omaha metro area, where she specialized in working with immigrant students and refugees with limited or interrupted formal schooling. The educator is a Gallup-certified strengths coach with 20 years of experience in instructional coaching and teacher leadership. Stratman is also fluent in Spanish, has an English as a Second Language endorsement, and is experienced in designing, presenting, and facilitating professional learning. She earned a master of science in education administration and supervision from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Marquette University.
