Mr. Jason Buckingham

On January 9, 2023, the Board of Education named Mr. Jason Buckingham the new Superintendent of Ralston Public Schools.

“I’m very excited and honored to be the next Superintendent for the Ralston Public Schools. We have some tremendous opportunities and challenges facing us going forward," said Buckingham. "I feel very blessed to be able to serve our District and help lead us through the next several years. This is undoubtedly an exciting time to be a part of our District, and I can’t wait to work with each of our professionals to make our District the best it can be.”

Mr. Buckingham joined the staff at Ralston High School in 1999 as a business teacher, activity sponsor, and coach.  After teaching, he served as the lead teacher/administrator of Ralston Public Schools' alternative education program.  Mr. Buckingham then earned a promotion to Assistant Principal at Ralston High School with responsibilities including student discipline, staff evaluation, and performance monitoring.  After three years as an Assistant Principal, Mr. Buckingham moved to Ralston Middle School as Principal of that building for the next five years.  He then served as the Assistant Superintendent for Business for RPS for the last nine years.

Among his many accolades, Mr. Buckingham was named the 2023 NASBO Outstanding Business Official of the Year at the NASBO State Conference.

Mr. Buckingham chose to work in educational leadership because he enjoys the challenge of providing the best educational opportunities Ralston can provide.  Diligently and prudently focusing the district's resources toward the educational advancement of Ralston students provides a great deal of personal reward for him throughout the year.
