• Thank you for your interest in a substitute teacher position with Ralston Public Schools. Your willingness to serve our district as a substitute teacher is evidence of your desire to help each child reach his or her fullest potential. We deeply appreciate your willingness to share your time and talents with the students who attend the Ralston Public Schools.

    Our daily substitute teacher rates for the current school year are…

    • $165 per day for regular assignments
    • $175 per day for long-term assignments (10 consecutive days in the same classroom)  

    Any substitute teacher who has an average feedback rating of 4.00 or higher from our certified staff members and has taught in Ralston for a minimum of 50 assignments during the 2021-2022 school year will automatically be compensated at the enhanced rate of $175 per day.

    Any individual who is interested in a substitute teacher position is asked to complete an online application file. The human resource department continuously reviews our substitute teacher pool and accepts applications throughout the year. Candidates can log on to update their application file and/or attach documents at any time. Please do not mail documents to our office unless you have been specifically instructed to do so.

The Associate Teacher Program

  • Ralston Public Schools is accepting applications for the District’s Associate Teacher program. The Associate Teacher program is a residency-like substitute teaching experience that provides graduates from schools of education, and those interested in entering the profession, with an opportunity to improve their instructional practices.

    Candidates selected for the Associate Teacher program will report to the same school throughout their residency. Associates will have the opportunity to:

    • Provide instruction in the absence of the classroom teacher
    • Participate in targeted staff development opportunities
    • Attend teacher team meetings
    • Provide additional instruction support on an as needed basis

    All applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, post-secondary institution. In addition, successful candidates must possess a strong desire to learn more about effective instructional practice and be a relentless advocate for children.
