Vision
The Ralston Public Schools Counseling department is dedicated to providing every student with the knowledge and skills necessary for academic success and personal growth. We are committed to helping students reach their full potential in academics, careers, personal and social skills in school and beyond. Our mission, as student advocates, is to provide a comprehensive guidance program to assist all students in becoming independent individuals with the knowledge and attitudes to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners. The Ralston Public Schools Counseling program provides a continuum of supports for all students Pre-K through 12th grade.
Elementary Counseling
Ralston Public Schools elementary counseling team consist of three counselors that serve our six elementary buildings. Our counselors deliver a comprehensive school counseling program on personal, social-emotional, academic and career development within the classroom. The standards are based on the American Counselor Association Mindsets and Behaviors. Our counselors assist students who need social/emotional help due to school or life crises in individual or small group settings. They also help students create future plans and learn how to achieve their goals.
The overall goals of the elementary counseling program are to help students:
- Develop positive life skills
- Advance on grade level
- Set goals to achieve academic success
- Transition to middle school

Middle School Counseling
Mr. Just Farr serves Ralston Middle School as our 7th and 8th-grade counselor. The middle school prides itself on the collaborative relationships among staff to provide personal, social-emotional, academic support and career development to all students. Supports are offered in individual settings, small groups, and within the classroom. Mr. Farr works with guest speakers and local colleges to promote college and career readiness opportunities for 8th-grade students.

High School Counseling
The Ralston High School Counseling team provides a multitude of services and supports for Ralston High School students and families. The counseling department offers supports in the areas of academics, personal, social-emotional, and college and career readiness. Our school counseling program is a collaborative effort that benefits students, parents, teachers, administrators and the overall community. The counselors are an integral part of students' daily educational environment and are partners in student achievement. The high school team is consists of three counselors and a college-career coordinator.
