Local Business Leaders Take Part in Mock-Interviews at Ralston High School
Leaders from local businesses met with sophomore students at Ralston High School to take part in a mock-interview activity. This is part of the sophomore’s curriculum for their careers class.
Each student put together a folder which included: a completed job application, resume and cover letter. Leading up to the mock-interview day, teachers worked with students on proper etiquette for a job interview. Classroom discussion topics included how to introduce yourself, discussion topics, eye contact, and proper dress.
Students then met in the school’s media center to participate in a mock interview with a local business representative. After the interview, the students received feedback on all of the items included in their packet. This feedback is also discussed in future classes and helps teachers work with students to improve their overall job readiness skills.
The mock-interview days are held once a quarter at Ralston High School so every sophomore student can participate in the activity.
