Student-Athlete Leadership Class
Ralston Public Schools takes great pride in developing student leaders, in and out of the classroom. Around ten times a year, over 50 student-athletes (recommended by their coaches) at Ralston High School meet early in the morning to be part of a Leadership Class. This class is conducted by Humanex Ventures, an organization that partners with leaders in the community to help them achieve their potential. They focus on education, athletics, business, and community: working to build communities of excellence through a focus on talent, culture, and teams.

The RHS students participate in interactive presentations/lessons on topics such as Failure Recovery, Embracing Your Role as a Student-Athlete, Crucial Conversations, Performing Under Pressure, High-Impact Communication, Commitment, and the Power of Psychological Safety.

The goal is to take the positive leadership skills/qualities learned in the class back to their teams to help improve the team chemistry and further develop student leadership.

"We want to develop better leaders and ultimately better humans among Ralston student-athletes," says Allie Mailloux, Athletics Consultant at HumanEX Ventures. "Our sessions with the students will help them develop leadership skills they can relay back to their teams and use at home. We want students to succeed on the field and in life."
