Summer Reading Programs Available to RPS Students & Families

Summer break is almost here! Your student has worked hard all year long, and while summer is a time for playing in the sunshine and spending time with family and friends, it is also a great chance for your student to continue learning. Below are some great resources you and your family can use to continue learning in a fun way throughout the summer.

NebraskaREADS: Summer Reading Adventure

Download a packet full of carefully crafted early literacy resources to make learning fun and rewarding for students and families. From exciting books to literacy activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

This packet is for kindergarten to third-grade students who may benefit from extra support in reading or have an Individualized Reading Improvement Plan (IRIP). Our goal is to make learning an enjoyable adventure for every student! Click HERE to download the packet!

Ralston Baright Library Summer Reading Program

The library’s 2024 Summer Reading Program encourages everyone - from infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to children, teens, and adults - to read.

This summer’s programming is thoughtfully scheduled to inspire our community to get out and find their adventures - starting at their local library. SORA Summer Reading App

Our District Media Specialists would like to take this opportunity to share with you information about the SORA Reading App. Sora is an app for students to read books they pick and that their teachers assign. The app allows you to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your school's library.
