Blair Basketball Protocols

Here are the protocols for basketball at Blair on Saturday December 5th:
Blair High & Otte Middle School Winter Sports Protocol
(revised per DHM 11/11/20)
Blair Community Schools is glad to continue to offer interscholastic athletics during the winter season. We have learned from our experience in the fall and will continue to monitor conditions and make changes as necessary to ensure 1. Students and our community remain safe 2. School can remain open 3. Activities can continue. Below are the current protocols and restrictions as we move exclusively to indoor sports.
Passes and Spectators:

For Blair Community Schools home contests each participant will be allowed up to 4 immediate household family members to attend as spectators for all basketball levels and wrestling dual events. Participants include players, coaches, cheerleaders, and dance team members. For wrestling triangulars and tournaments hosted by Blair, the limit will be two household members per participant.

Capacities are at 25% per the governor’s directive health measure through 12/31.

Temperatures will be taken at the door. Please do not attend if you don’t feel well.

Blair fans will enter on the south side of the school to the west of the aux gym. Visitor fans will enter through the south atrium doors. It is recommended that Blair spectators park in the teacher parking lot off of Iowa Street.

No band or pep bands at this time

No student body attendance at this time

Family pods will be asked to sit together and social distance from other families as much as possible.

Any updates in protocols for events will be communicated through social media and coaching staff.

Spectators are encouraged to delay arrival until the beginning of their participant’s contest and leave at the conclusion of that contest.

Spectator requirements will vary depending on the location of the event. Blair will abide by the protocols of the host school in all instances.
Masks
-
Students and officials will not be expected to wear masks during actual competition or when engaged in rigorous, physical activity. Students and officials will be expected to wear masks when not engaged in rigorous activity - i.e. when on the sidelines, on the bench, etc. Coaches will wear masks at all times.

Practices - Masks will be worn by athletes any time they are not going up and down the court or on the mat in competition.

Masks will be required for all spectators at indoor events.

Game management personnel will be required to wear masks.
Concessions

No concessions will be offered at this point.
Miscellaneous

Disinfecting Protocols will be in place for ALL practices and contests.

Water fountains will not be available. Bottle fillers will be open at certain venues.

We are asking fans not to arrive before admission gates open and to exit the facilities immediately after the
contest and avoid waiting and gathering.
Pre Screening
-
Parents will screen their children at home for fever or chills, cough, shortness of
breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new
loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or
vomiting, diarrhea

If symptomatic, students will not report to school/practice/contest and parents
will consult a medical professional
